Unusual Beneteau Freshwater Fitting

Why not just get another Jabsco inlet fitting with standard NPT (standard US pipe threads) threads and go from there. Wish you were close by, I've got a handful of them of the boat (left over from past pumps and projects).

Okay, I had to look it up: it is called "Form a Gasket" no 1 (the hard setting brown colored) and no 2 (the black non-hardening. These are NOT silicones.

Nick, are these safe to use in fresh water systems? I mean these are for car engines, so how do we know they're not toxic?

Joe: these products don't smell nice but are stable after cure. Also, if done right, it doesn't end up inside the pipe/fitting, just on the threads and the only place it will try to go is out, not into the plumbing because of the water pressure. I would be much more worried about the hoses/fittings leeching chemicals into the water.

Also, you can check the MSDS sheet although those are for the uncured product. Here's the links to the products I suggested:

He didn't say, but if he has polyethylene tubing, I'm not sure silicon is gonna stick to it.

Did you use that on diesel fittings? I think it'll be okay on water fittings, even hot water, but wouldn't use it on diesel.

If you have enough room on the hose coming from the water tank; cut the old fitting off and clamp / screw / or crimp (depending on what you replace it with) on a new and readily available fitting to match the pump fitting. West marine will have a variety of options available if you have enough room on the hose that you can retro fit it. It sounds like it would be easier that trying to seal or adapt to what you have and would be a more permanent solution.

The fittings you are showing are Plasson and no longer available, Beneteau used 16MM tube, Quest PVC has a compression connector that works with the tube, but you need to replace the fitting into pump. There are a lot of NPT adapters available
