Tap Leak

On the through hull fitting for seawater inlet to toilet have a brass/bronze? tap continual drip I think I read somewhere if you remove tap cylinder and heat up it will go to original shape ie swell slightly to get a snug fit.Anyone know whether true or false. Thanks Geoff.
