Re: Suggestions for emptying blackwater tank with no pumpout available

I second the idea Emptynest posted. I have a pocket cruiser that lives on the trailer. Many of the lakes I sail don't have a pump out so I took my old wet/dry shop vac, bought a multi-diameter rubber hose adapter from Home Depot and cut it to fit the pump out on my deck. Now when I get back from multi-day sail, I pop in the adapter and turn on the vac. It works amazingly well and I can just dump the black water in the toilet in the shop. A watered down bleach rinse on the whole system puts the holding tanks and vacuum back in good order.

"Blackwater Bazooka" by Sixodesign@gmail.com or (509) 370-2122 for direct contact or search eBay where it is also offered. The system solves all the problem fo boaters who trailer or no facility available to pump out your Blackwater holding tank.

Bingo. One of my commercial boats had it's waste pump fail, we went about three weeks using a commercial service once a week. I don't know what they charged, but as cheap as the boat's owners were, it couldn't have been much.
