sticky bilge float

the float on my bilge pump seems to be getting stuck in the "pump" position lately. i dont know if the cold temps we are having in N.J. has anything to do with that. i have been dousing it with simple green. no help. any suggestions? thanks

Its a bit hard without knowing the model. But I would pull it right down and clean all moving parts. Aside from that. Simply buy a new one.
