Stainless vented loops - Are they OK?

How does everyone feel about Stainless steel vented loops on the head intake and output hoses? Is stainless a viable material? Mine have always been bronze, but these new stainless loops are pretty and more compact... will they hold up? Oh, and I miss Chuck...

On my mechanic's recommendation, I installed a Scot stainless vented loop on my exhaust last summer. So far so good, but not enough time to tell if it holds up in the long run. It sure is compact, though...

Just be sure to use a good anti-seizing compound on the treads. I can't remember the name of the stuff. It comes in a small tube and looks like liquid aluminum........

I no longer need loops on my heads....but 3 of the 4 previous ones were SS and in fine shape when I took them off.

Are you planning on making them your self…..we made our exhaust ones, it was easy and you can make sure the installation is the way YOU want it.

Aloha Christian,
Are you finding stainless loops in catalogs?
Regards,

Actually, I have found them thru several sources online, and I'm also considering making them up myself. I'm not quite as skilled as James S though... I just worry about the combination of saltwater and effluent effecting them...

I'm sure your skill level is PLENTY advanced to bang out some of these.

As for the reaction of the combination of effluent and saltwater..I think most macerator blades are SS and deal with it fine.

I'd build-em If I were you!...
