Source for Parabolic Shape Tanks?

Hi,
I've been looking all over for polyethylene water tanks shaped like my bilge.

My bilge is a parabola where a is 12" and b is 40".

The flat top of the parabola is my cabin sole.

Where do you get tanks shaped like this or custom tanks built like this?

The third dimension is about 52" .

It looks like they get really tall in the middle when full. Also looks like they carrry a lot of height to the edges.

And I'm not sure how they work all bunched up in a parabola instead of on a flat surface like they are designed to be on.

Finally, I'm picturing them breaking my cabin sole supports as I fill them.

Just not at all sure of these. Need about 40-50 gallons per tank in 2 tanks.

I was looking at building the tanks in as integral tanks but am not entirely sold on the leaching of BPA and amines (if epoxy) or styrene (if polyester).

That basically leaves the NSF guideline meeting polyethylene tanks.

Definitely open to all suggestions including bladder tanks that are more appropriately shaped for the space.

Re: Source for Parabolic Shape Tanks?

Polyethylene tanks are roto-molded and require expensive tooling (mold) to be made. This generally makes custom tanks cost-prohibitive.

A custom bladder will also be quite expensive. A bladder would also likely preclude using a deck fill plate, as they are generally not designed for the additional pressure head from the height of the fill line.

Given that just being in the presence of epoxy dust that has been cured for years puts me into a two-day allergic attack, I'm not willing to risk drinking hardener

Better yet.... Ronco Plastics marine Tanks

They make TOP quality thick-walled water and waste tanks for a very reasonable price and have more than 400 shapes and sizes, over 100 of which are non-rectangular, and they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank.

As you look at the drawings, keep in mind that because there is no top or bottom until the fittings go in--and you decide where they go--they can be oriented any direction. So rotate, flip end for end, try 'em in any orientation.

If you are going to remove the sole anyway. I would just skin the hull with iso plus glass and glass tag in baffles. I doubt you will find a premade tank to fit your need other than a bladder..

I’d talk to Aero Tec Laboratories. They custom make fuel and water bladders. I’m sure they could do that shape.
Aero Tec Laboratories - BoatBladders.com - Marine Fuel Bladder Tanks - Range Extender Fuel Bladders - Petro-Flex Fuel Bladders - FueLocker Fuel Bladders - Below Deck Fuel Bladders - OEM Fuel Bladder Tanks - Replacement Fuel Tanks

You could probably get stainless steel tanks made to this pattern from a local fabricator. Does depend on where you are.
