Seals for a Cat pump (watermaker)

I want to replace the main seals on the pump as they look a little worn and the pump is running stiff. They seem to be standard o rings and oil seals, but with stainless springs. Has anyone replaced them with generics?

Here's a route to try. Get their dimensions as closely as possible, and then work your way through the catalog. Good luck with it, and welcome to the game of finding out which standard industrial parts a manufacturer wants to over charge for.

I was more wondering if anyone had tried to do it and what the lessons learnt were? If they are generic seals and O rings then it will be a simple job. If there is a subtle difference in the spec then generics won’t work as well.

You should be able to find the seals online with the pump number.
