Sealand VC2 vacuum flush pump

I have a VC2 sealand vacuum flush tank, and bought a new Sealand pump. The old pump had right handed threads, and used a regular PVC plumbing nipple to connect to the tank.

The NEW pump has left handed threads. ?!??!?!?
