I live on a leopard 38 catamaran and my danfoss BD with the module 102N3030 gives me a headache lately.

Fact is: I turn on my unit and get a beep after 2 minutes. The compressor stops and starts again with a beep.
An "expert" told me I need everything new. I told him, that the problem is related to the thermostat which stopped working a day prior.

I later found out, that the thermostat took power (12V) but did not deliver it.So it was just a corroded cable.
After that had been fixed, the danfoss worked great ... for 24 hours.

Now again this beep. I hotwired the thermostat, but no changes.
The fuse inside the module must be OK,otherwise the compressor wouldn't start, right?


I'm also very interested in the kollman book to install my own cooling system DIY with your help. Unfortunately registering is nog possible.

Troubleshooting 4 pin Danfoss modules consists of the following:

1. Place jumper wire across thermostat terminals, Compressor still does not run.

2. Disconnect black fan wire from electronic module, Compressor runs replace fan. Compressor still does not run after fan ground wire is disconnected. If one of the 10 transistors in this fan fail it can cause module to prevent compressor from running.

3. Run correct size and correct polarity fused jumper wires direct from a fully charged battery to module in order to bypass all boat’s wiring. Volt meter readings are of no value, Compressor still does not run electronic module needs to be tested on another unit.

I still answer around 15 emails a day regarding mobile refrigeration problems.
