RARITAN PH2

I nearly break my wrist trying to turn the dry-flush knob. What can I put on it to make it easier to turn. Thanks.

The pump, including the dry/flush knob, needs lubrication. If you only want to do it once every 6 mo-a year (depending on how much use the toilet gets), buy a tube of SuperLube thick grease, which you can find at Home Depot or Ace Hardware for about $6.95. Remove the screws that hold the pump on the base and lift the pump enough to let you stick the nozzle on the tube up into it...give it a healthy squirt--about a tablespoon...replace the pump, then pump few times to spread the grease all over the inside of the pump. You're done. That SHOULD also put enough grease into the dry/flush housing to make turning the knob a lot easier. If it doesn't, open up the dry/flush assembly (see the exploded drawing in the PHII owners manual here PH II Owner’s Manual and squirt a little grease into it.

I've stopped using that knob. I have a garden nozzle on a shower hose, with deck wash pressure in the head. We leave the knob on dry, blast the bowl and pump. It's faster and more thorough too I think.

Take the pump apart and clean it/change the seals. There's a great YouTube video that shows you every step. Taking apart the section with the knob was not intuitive so the video was greatly appreciated. My guess is that your pump needs lubing but there's probably too much calcium buildup for anything to work now. Ask me how I might know this....
