Problem with Icemaker

Hi,

the icemaker we have here has a problem ...

Kenmore Coldspot 106.89583707 (I think some KitchenAid models are the same because I have a manual for a KitchenAid), this icemaker makes ice by circulating water constantly over a freezing plate ...

When we start the icemaker the water pan will fill and the system will rinse itself (as written in the manual) ... During the process the pan is filled several times with water (thru pipe at red circle in the picture) and rinsed through a hole in the hose (see red arrow) and filled again.

At the end of the process the pan is drained totally thru the hole in the hose (and I think this is the problem) because than no water is there to be circulated over the freezing plate.

It worked b4 we cleaned the icemaker

Would be great if someone has experience with these kind of icemakers and can give a hint to the problem or how to troubleshoot ...

Thanks,

Carsten

Re: Problem with Icemaker

Living in England I know nothing about ice makers as we prefer warm real ale (beer).

However, with most of North America currently looking like an ice cube and even the polar bears carrying hot water bottles your post made me smile.

Re: Problem with Icemaker

... being from Germany I have no real insight into icemakers yet too :-) although I prefer a cold beer.

Here in the Bahamas having an icemaker is real nice even if the boat has A/C :-)
