Re: Pickle using Propylene Glycol?

RV antifreeze, the red stuff, is propylene glycol.
Local RV shops got it. Even Target
It's used as is in the bottle, red dye is to show is presence, or absence.
Make sure your fresh H2O tank is empty.
Add the antifreeze to the water fill, and when all of your faucets run red, your good.
So, water heaters are a bit different to protect.
Needs a ByPass, in the cold water feed line to the heater. Shut this valve and drain the water heater empty.
Before pumping in the glycol.
You'll save a lot of money not adding 10 gallons or more to your water heater. If you have one.

Re: Pickle using Propylene Glycol?

Spectra does recommend you can use propylene glycol (without alcohol) for pickling.
Be sure to check the label to make sure it contains no alcohol as some RV propylene glycol does.
