Ocean Breeze marine air-conditioner problem

My Ocean Breeze water-cooled marine air-conditioner comes on normally and starts to blow cold air, but after a little bit shuts itself off. There is a line on the QU288 digital wall control which says "check filter." Anyone know where the filter might be located? Or any thoughts on why it would shut itself off? I'm not sure just exactly where to start.

Sea water strainer maybe?

How's your water flow?

That is kind of the direction that my thoughts are going in right now. There may be a blockage there. I know that it is pulling in plenty of water through the strainer, and I know that the pump is working. But it may not be putting enough water through the cooling system for some reason.

Re: Ocean Breeze marine air-conditioner problem

Another possibility for a filter to check is in the return air. Often, there is a filter where the return air enters the evaporator. This filter can clog with dust and reduce your air flow, causing a greater load on your fan motor and the possibility of frosting in the evaporator.
