Re: Manual Waste Pump and Y-Valve rebuild/replacement

So I had some time to pull the old manual waste pump... found a clog... so I then removed one hose along with it.
.
Looks like I'll be going through the entire waste system to make sure it's clear, has working parts, and will allow a proper pumpout.
.
A plus of not having an engine running to move the boat to the pumpout station is that I'm not sure about the integrity of the waste system and how it would have handled the attempt of a pumpout.
So now I can get that all straightened out while I wait weeks for a couple of parts for my o/b to arrive!

Re: Manual Waste Pump and Y-Valve rebuild/replacement

A word about Y-valves.

Place it where it is easy to get to and change out. They need to be cleaned and lubricated once a month, or they freeze up and you break the handle off. Having a spare, lubricated and ready to go, can keep you from ruining a nice day.

Thanks!
I actually received the broken handle for the Y-valve from the PO recently.
I'll be sketching this up in my CAD program, then printing it on my 3D printer soon... I have a few projects I need to print anyways and this one shouldn't be much of an issue to create.
Makes sense for me to make 2
