And I have the answer!

"I worked for Jabsco in those years and do remember the fitting you are showing.
One of the reason the impeller discharge pumps have a 1-1/2" threaded end at the inlet is because the original thought was that you could screw the macerator into the tank discharge fitting to discharge though the deck plate. It never caught on because of
the mess issue...a number of blow up disasters trying to pump through the deck discharge plate." (I can just imagine!)

So there never was a hose to dangle over the side as I thought there was...
The 1.5" is a pumpout fitting and the 1" is the outlet for a poop shootin' macerator pump.

So, Windshift (great boat name, btw)... If you'd like to show us how it works, I'd pay good money to be there--but well out of range--with a camera to record it, especially when that side of the boat is to windward!

Ah, I get it. An anti-piracy device.

Does that make this another gun thread?

So it was a Jabsco product! I'm not as senile as I thought. Now if I could just find my pants.

I bet the video would go viral on you tube. I mean the poop geyser, not me looking for my pants.

Believe it or not, I actually just saw one installed on a boat yesterday! I'm at Grand Banks owners rendezvous on San Juan Island in WA state...was telling 'em about it and an owner says "I think there's one on my boat"..,and sho' 'nuff, there it was, in the side of his boat...no longer any plumbing connected to it and the caps have been permanently sealed.

Which broke my heart 'cuz I'd really have loved to be able to get a video of it in action!
