LED strip or spot downlights

Hi All,

I'm updating the V berth on our 40 footer, as part of that I am going to update the lighting. The current cabin has wood sides, which makes it a bit dark.(see image).

I am thinking I might add either LED strip to the thin wood panel that runs down either side of the cabin ceiling. There is a small lip where the fiber glass meets the wood strip to hide the LED so you get only the indirect light unless right underneath, which of course you would be if lying on the berth. (see 3rd pic). Also with some LED strips if you can see them, it looks like a series of lights, rather than a continuous strip.

The second option I have thought of, which might look a little more "classy" is two LED down lights on either side, hopefully going for a look like the far right pic.

Personally, given the application I prefer the concealed led strips.

I've installed led strips, which have a small remote allowing dimming and colour changing. Very nice for mood lighting as well as bright when you want it. If you have a hidden recess I can recommend them.
