Katadyn 40E-Adding an additional membrane

Has anyone tried to add an additional 2.5x40 pressure vessel/membrane to the existing water-maker? Is there the ability to run high pressure lines to another, external, pressure vessel/membrane? Will the pump provide enough pressure from the 12 volt motor?

The issue is two fold. Does the pump drive system have the neccessary additional power and is the flow rate sufficient.

Can't be done and work on a Katadyn 40E. No where near enough flow or pressure capabilities. Even if you plumbed it to an additional 2.5X40 you would quickly foul both membranes.
