Jasco snsor Max VSD problems

The pump would not stop cycled very slowly when flow was stopped. I suspected junk in the pump since the filter had just been replaced and is was full.
Took the pump apart and found nothing. Now the pump runs full speed with little or now flow. (a dribble)

Placed the sensor near a magnet and got no speed change.

Any suggestions?

Jabsco 32755 sensor max VSD 5.0

Re: Jasco snsor Max VSD problems

Do water heaters come with expansion tanks? Or should they be added separately? My boat has a diaphragm pump (see above) and I see no place for the heated water to expand.
Please show me what I am missing. Thanks!

Water heaters do not come with expansion tanks. Its a good Idea to have one. Required by most US plumbing codes for landside plumbing.

I would get one from the bog box store, about a gallon size or so. less expensive and works better / longer then the accumulators sold in marine stores

You don't need an accumulator with a VSD pump, but it works as a thermo expansion tank too

Its more an issue in boats where the hot water is being heated by the cooling water">engine cooling water. Lots of temperature swings.

Note: on your first question, the start stop, could be caused by a slow leak somewhere in the system, or leak back to the suction side of the pump.
