Islander watermaker

I have a Islander watermaker that I have not used. The last time it was turned on would have been 1999 if even then. I have not been able to find anything about them. Are they still in business? Would it be worth spending the money getting it to run again and buy a new membrain for it?

Thank you! I could not find anything about them. I will get the number off the unit and see what they can do.

WOW! I had no idea how much a new watermaker would cost. Islander replied and will be sending me a manual for my unit and they have been very helpful so far. I asked for a price for a new one like mine and it is $6000. and $11000. for the next generation system. I think I will take a chance on my old unit and see if I can get it to come back to life.

Notwithstanding my previous offer, I have a lot of experience with RO and if you fly me to Michigan I will give you a full appraisal free of charge.

The cost of airfare would be just about as much as a new watermaker!

$6000- plus

For a water maker, must be why God invented rain.
It rains so much in bottom left NZ that even the sea water is drinkable. I was thinking of a hand pump for emergencies, but will carry enough in the meantime.

I forgot about the option. Pam Wall just plugs that deck drains and opens the water deck fitting.

Did you meet Pam in Ft. Lauderdale??? It thought she was/is great. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Cheer,

Keith

Oh, I'd fix the existing watermaker too. They are WAY expensive. Hard part will be finding a motor if that is shot.

Good luck

BTW: Pam’s husband, Andrew Wall, is an excellent rigger.
