INOX Water Tank for RO Systems

I have a Reverse Osmosis Watermaker and it’s dumping its water into a plastic/poly tank. A respected sailor told me that it is a good choice, because RO water has no minerals and this water will extract the minerals from a inox tank. Is this true or falls? And if it’s true, is it possible to put minerals in the inox RO tank yourself?
