how do i flush toilet in a sovereign 23

I just bought the boat. It has a handle, that seems i would pump. But nothing. Does the battery have to be hooked up?. Or how do i find if there is even water for it?

It might help if you could find a picture of it or post one here, so that folks can help you identify it.

Generally, the procedure is as follows:

Check that the holding tank is empty.
Check that the Y valve that lets you choose between holding tank and overboard is set to send waste to the holding tank.
Open the seacock that feeds raw water to the toilet.
Flip a lever on the toilet that allows raw water to come in.
Pump the handle.
Flip the lever back to the dry position.
Pump until the bowl is empty.

Re: how do i flush toilet in a sovereign 23

Just a suggestion, the first thing we did was take everything off the new to us boat and clean the kinds of nooks and crannies you usually don't get around to cleaning. This helped us find things we might have spent a lot of time looking for elsewhere. The head intake and the head sink drain sea cocks are actually under our nav table (luckily, they are labelled on our boat). One of the things we happened to find was the SOP that the previous owner provided to guests, which helped us figure out a few quirks, as well.

A friend of mine worked at Sovereign. I'll ask him if he knows anything about the head.

Before you do ANYTHING make sure you don't set up a siphon....... which could sink the boat
