Hot water heating element keeps failing

I think that the other commenters, and yourself, have answered the original question.

Thinking out of the box, we installed a propane powered (I know, some of you hate propane) hot water heater. This allows us to have instant hot water at any time.

So when at anchor for a few days or sailing across an ocean, we can still have hot showers and wash dishes with hot water.

It also weighs less and takes up less room than that tank.

We've been using them for 33 years.
