Holding tank filling up daily?

I just recently bought a 2008 Hunter 44 DS with electric heads that are plumbed directly to the holding tank. The holding tank seems to be filling up daily. Also, the aft head bowl will fill up when the holding tank gets close to full? Anyone have any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

What of head do you have? Have you tried shutting the macerator discharge valve to see if it fills up?

Are you sure you're completely emptying the holding tank daily?

Is it a freshwater flush? How many are aboard?

Re: Holding tank filling up daily?

We previously owned a Hunter 41. You might want to check the solenoids to make sure that they are completely shutting off the flow of water into the bowl. That line is under pressure from the water pump. We had to replace the solenoid a couple times in the main head. The small trickle from a leaking solenoid will cause the bowl to fill up. If this is the problem, until you can replace it you will have to completely shut off the flow of water to the head at the main manifold (ours was under the galley sink).

Hope this helps,
Scott
