Hey Tellie! Problem with a Village Marine STW 200-800

Hey Tellie... and anyone else knowledgeable,

Our still-pretty-new-to-us boat came with a Village Marine STW 200-800 series 37 gal per hour watermaker. It has worked great until about a month ago. I changed the oil in the high pressure pump (don’t think it’s related but including all the details) and did a fresh water flush.

Since that flush, the display panel has been steadily showing “Press reset to clear flush filter = 00/50.” No buttons are functioning. I tried pressing and holding the Reset button and just single pressing it. I have cycled the power off and on several times and I have disconnected the remote control panel and repeated all of those steps. Once about two weeks ago, the screen read “Standby Mode” and I was able to flush it but I don’t know what sequence of event allowed that to happen. Otherwise, the screen and buttons appear frozen.

Any suggestions? Any way to get it to reset to factory default and make it work again?

Thanks

John

Re: Hey Tellie! Problem with a Village Marine STW 200-800

A little more information:
I turned off the power again, took off the front panel and checked all of the wiring inside for tightness, reinstalled everything, and checked the tightness of the remote valve for freshwater flushing that is on top of the carbon filter housing. Then I turned the power back on. Several diagnostic screens flashed so fast I couldn’t get photos of all of them. Finally, the same message as above came on the screen. About ten minutes later, I checked again and there was a new message that said, “To clear flush filter count, press reset.” Then it changed to “Press Reset to clear HP pump oil = @D /500.” Then it changed back to the message about resetting the flush filter count.
I pressed and released the Reset button 40 times with about three seconds between each press. No change. Then I pressed and held the Reset button for about one minute. Again, no change.

It seems to be stuck on wanting the counters reset but they won’t reset. I haven’t been able to find a way to “reboot” it or restore it to factory default. I’m at a loss.
