We don't even have a fuel dock round here and I've certainly never seen a "pump out station" on my travels. Guessing they may have them in Auckland?
I suppose option 3 is closest...

Hi, we have pump out up here in marsden cove marina, every berth on A pier but only A pier.

Re: Head Poll v2.0 - what type do you have?
I had an issue with my original, glassed-in, aluminum tank. Corrosion no doubt caused it to fail, at which point I had the task to start into cutting a bunch of fiberglass, cutting apart the old tank, then replacing with a smaller tank that could squeeze into the space. after weighing my options, I left the tank, sealed it up, pulled out all the hoses, and replaced it with a Nature's Head. Now whenever I get a whiff of issues on someone else's vessel (probably due to old sanitation lines) I feel even more happy with my decision.

Re: Head Poll v2.0 - what type do you have?
I had a boat sink a few years ago, but managed to get the lavac head off as it was the best boat head I’d used, and it cost plenty. Anyway it is still in my garage in Sydney, a case of beer and it’s yours. I think peg hall rates these heads highly too.

Re: Head Poll v2.0 - what type do you have?
Two Jabsco electric seawater flush with 2 holding tanks and troughhull valves to dispose them in the sea without pump out, also two deck fittings for pumping out if possible.
Since we do not go into marinas and harbors most of the time and use to anchor for one ot two nights and cruise, we dispose it off shore when we are several miles away and as often as possible to not dump large amounts at once.
Biggest issue is calcification of the hoses, hydrochlorid acid is your friend, once every 4 weeks and they work like a charm. I will re-pipe one in the owners hull to fresh water flush, to reduce the need of decalcification.
We use a shatush (bidet shower doushe) to reduce the paperwork too, so very little need for disposal on land.
Would not work with dry composting toilet.

Raritan SeaEra QC electric macerating head, 30 gallon Ronco holding tank, 2 dip tubes (avoiding 3-way valve), one for deck level pumpout, one for overboard discharge with pump to thru-hull. Very happy with the SeaEra QC. However, the "smart" controller could be improved.

Re: Head Poll v2.0 - what type do you have?
Mine, I never used the tank and neither did the PO as it was always on the hook,
I have only used the tank since it was on the hard and the Lady friend needed to use it, Using a bucket of fresh water to flush it, My plumbing wasnt connected,
And the toilets here on the hard are some thing else, I have to be desperate to use it, Yuk,
It uses sea water when its in the water, The PO used fresh water thru it,
But the risk of contamination was there, But I changed that over to seawater, ,

Keep those votes coming.
And just a note, the old head poll (taken 2.5 years ago) has now been closed. If you recently voted or commented over there, please make sure you add your votes here as well.
For comparison, you can see the final outcome of the old poll. It’s not perfectly comparable because I modified some of the descriptions (to be more accurate), but it’s still interesting.

Re: Head Poll v2.0 - what type do you have?
Manual Lavac with a custom 22g holding tank (nicely made by Triple-M Plastics from my drawings). Y-Valve to the holding tank or overboard, 2nd Y-valve which allows the Lavac hand pump to empty the holding tank overboard (since it's below the w/l). Holding tank also has a standard deck pump out.
Lavac has been great but recently has developed a leak at the pump which needs to be addressed. Admittedly, I haven't done any maintenance on it for the 7 years or so it's been installed so I can't really complain too much.
