Re: Fridge being picky about its power supply

Thanks to everyone who responded to my part of this thread. The water pump was the culprit. Photos attached.

Think Ozepete is principle of Ozyfridge, great to have such highly esteamed input.

So how is it the water pump is the culprit, was it causing voltage drop because of bad efficiency.

Re: Fridge being picky about its power supply

This may help. Below is a page from a Vitrofrigo manual. They use a Danfoss compressor, I think the BD35. There are several electronic modules for this compressor, but I think that the option to change the voltage cut-in/out is the same. You would want to find out which module you have and verify this before doing anything.

As shipped, the voltage will cause a compressor cut-out at 10.4v volts. This is an instantaneous voltage, so when the compressor tries to start, NOT what you may read at the panel when there are no or little loads. And it is NOT the voltage at the battery, but at the compressor module. This is the ONLY voltage that matters.

A bare wire across terminals C&P will drop the cut out voltage to 9.6 on a 12v system. This setting is designed for use with solar panels, you would not want to use this one, or you could damage your batteries. you can see the other combinations in the table.
