Filters for watermaker

Watermaker membranes are good for about 1 year from date of manufacture, even stored in wet preservative.

Considering the price of new membranes, try the old ones by doing a prolonged (20 min?) rinse before running it to see if it works. Your prefilter is cheap and should remove any silt (but not oil).
Also, I was under the impression that pickling or winterizing didn't do much (if any) damage to the membrane, but cleaning it did.
