Electric Salt Walter pump

Hi, I¨m considering changing ny whaler foot pump in the galley with small electric pump. Mainly for washing dishes with salt water. Is anything wrong with this idea?

Re: Electric Salt Walter pump

It's a great idea.
On my boat I had a salt water pump, that fed the washdown faucet on deck, galley sink, and shower.

Sure is nice to be able to take a long salt shower (in proper climate) and rinse with a quart or so, of your precious fresh water.

Use a pump that would interchange with the fresh water pump, and you always have a spare if needed for fresh water.

Electric Salt Walter pump

You can add a small inline electric pump between foot pump and whatever it's called where the water comes out...flat drawing a blank here...foot pump still works...

Re: Electric Salt Walter pump

I use one of those cheap Rule inline pumps for this but have had to change it every time it stays unused for a period of time.
Salt water goes nasty if you don't pump it through frequently. That's why watermakers need back flushing etc.
It's great just pushing a button to fill the sink for washing up though.
