Do Self-Sealing Valve Couplings Work ?

I am relocating my freezer to a much better insulated space.
The installation is a Waeco Coolmatic 90 series WA99094 working together with a VD-16 circulating air evaporator.

These two are connected with "self sealing valve couplings".
I expect but am not sure this means I can disconnect the evaporator from the compressor unit without losing any refrigerant and reconnect them at the appr. moment.

I don't really have to disconnect these two but if I did, my project would be substantially easier.

My question: can I disconnect/reconnect with loss of R134a?
Are these valve couplings reliable?
Or do I run a risk of having to refill/top up my installation cause of pierced o-rings or whatever?

I am not familiar with Waeco but Adler Barbor and Frigoboat couplings can be disconnected/reconnected without gas loss.

This was true for Adler Barber in the past, but it hasn't been true for a number of years.

Adler Barber fittings cannot be disconnected without gas loss now. I think the change in the fittings was 10yrs or so ago.
