Custom waste tank

I can provide a Solid works or other software drawing, who can build me a plastic custom waste tank?
I've tried and can't find a Ronco that will work

Re: Custom waste tank

I wish I could remember who , but I had one made to order on line cheap. At that time there were a few different companies. Did you google it? Mine was small, 8 gallon, 3 fittings and was about $100 total.
Here's one, put your dimensions and number of fittings in here: http://www.all-rite.com/custom-holding-and-water-tanks

Ronco will do custom tanks. All you need are the dimensions. Call their Customer Service folks, they will walk you through the process.

I had them fabricate one for me a few years ago. I gave them all the dimensions, including the size and location of fittings. They will mock-up a draft and go over it with you prior to confirming the order.

I did, they said as they are Rotomolded, they don't do custom, to do so would of course require a custom mold, so then of course you have tooling costs for a one off tank.

Here's one, put your dimensions and number of fittings in here: Custom RV Holding Tanks | RV Holding & Water Tanks - All-Rite

These guys look to be able to do the job.

Try Joe Ledesma. He built one for me to fit an IP 38 a long time ago.

That must be a relatively recent change. Our holding tank is from them, and is welded. (Relatively recent being 6 years.......) how time flies.

Plastic? I really don't want to go with Aluminum. If I have to I guess I will and will try to coat the inside with Epoxy, that with freshwater flushing should make it last a long time, but I feel that a good PE or PP tank will outlast me.

Re: Custom waste tank

He is a plastic welding fabricator.

Aluminum, as IP has sufficiently proven, makes a crappy waste tank.

I don't want an aluminum tank, but my boat turns 30 next year and has had the tank replaced once, in 2002.
I think an argument that a tank that can be easily replaced with a couple of hours work and lasts 15 yrs, isn't bad.
Just better is available, and I want better.

Now my water tank is a different story, it is I have heard a real project to replace. I hope to not find out.

Re: Custom waste tank

I got quotes from Triple M plastics and one other for a pair of holding tanks 12 gal and about 20 gal. Both quotes were over $300 per tank.

Re: Custom waste tank

The IP in which that tank was replaced required major surgery just to access it (under the sole beneath the forward bunk). And it took much more than 2 hours to get the smell of waste out of the boat.

Re: Custom waste tank

I'm hoping that with shipping, I can get it done for $500, but I'll pay whatever I have to within reason.
Doing anything right seems to be expensive.
Of course the R&R I will do myself and I plan on adding a second 1.5" bung so I can add either a diaphragm pump or a macerator to pump out the tank myself.
Currently I can only empty the tank through the deck pump out, I have the option of bypassing the tank, but would prefer to also be able to empty it myself when out past three miles.

Mine is under the port settee and the tank top is 18" X 18", access cover for the compartment the tank is in is I think 24" X 30". Tank is held in by four screws through mounting tabs, has two 1.5" bungs and one 5/8" bung. I really think I can get it out in an hour or less, and if I R&R the thing before it leaks, then no smell issue to deal with.
I really think here that preventative maintenance is called for, get it out before it leaks, and I think at 15 yrs old for the tank, that could be any day now.

Your best source is Triple M Plastics in Maine Triple M Plastic Products Inc They make top quality custom one-off welded plastic water, waste and even fuel tanks and the prices are reasonable.
