Re: Crunched some Engel refrigerator numbers, I'm impressed.

One other fun thing about the drop-in model: The directions. Yes, this is all of them.

Yep - Malcolm Betts - he is closer to you than me, as in he is near Redcliffe, 0419 674 135.

Re: Crunched some Engel refrigerator numbers, I'm impressed.

Hi Dusty.
I found that using the engel the OO had hooked up to the converted bar fridge on its back in the galley, with a single evap plate, as a freezer was like pushing sh!!!t uphill! As a fridge/cooler, ok, but drained my batteries at night to 60%, running almost flat out.

Now, with BD50 compressor and closed evap plat, like a small freezer unit in a normal fridge, mounted vertically, top open, is the rolls royce of freezers.

Will keep the evap frozen at 4, goes to 7, keeps ice at 3, at 7, will freeze the whole fridge! And my batteries were at 94% this morning!!! Only runs 25% of the time, I have a red led that glows in the head, where the compressor unit is, when it comes on. The best unit I have ever used in the tropics, not water cooled, just air cooled, stuck under the hand basin in the head.
Keith.
