CruiseAir Doesn't Cool

Just bought a 1988 Sea Ray Sundancer 300. It has a Marine Development Corporation Cruisair Stowaway/III model BRH10, 10,000 btu H&A unit with a Aqua-Air Tempwise 2000 Control. When we turned the switch on it was breaking the main breaker. The pump wasnt drawing water from the lake. So we disconnected a hose and primed it and the unit kicked on then compressor and it cooled. After 45minutes someone accidentally turned of the AC unit and then immediately switched it back on. Now the system doesn't cool and it appears the compressor isn't running. It is drawing water and discharging but not cooling. Does anyone now if there is a rest for either the unit or the controller? Any suggestions are welcome.

Re: CruiseAir Doesn't Cool

Thermal overload on the compressor.

Shut it off for an hour or over night if possible. Turn it back on first thing in the morning.

since it was just immediately running, pressure has built up in the compressor discharge tubing, so the compressor can not immediately restart.
So the current overload thermal breaker turns off the power to save the motor windings
When the pressure bleeds off the compressor will start again.

this same thing will happen to a fridge.
It would have eventually restarted.
