Cruisair makes cold but no heat

Hey all just curious if anyone has ever had this problem. We turn on the air and set it to heat and the compressor comes on and blows ice cold air. All the other units operate normally just the one in the master won't heat. Any ideas?

Has it been awhile since you set it to heat? The reversing solenoid on AC systems are notorious for getting stuck from non-use. Try whacking it (gently). Maybe measure the voltage on the leads to make sure that there isn't a wiring issue.

But I bet whacking it works.

Will, there should a a wire connection on the reversing solenoid. First make sure the plug that the wire is attached to hasn't come loose. It can be the solenoid, but it also can be the circuit board. Chuck

I'll third the reversing solenoid. That was our problem.

Check both ends of the wiring and connectors between the control switch that adjusts the temp and allows fan only and the Cruisair circuit board. The telephone wire-like connectors sometimes are misaligned or corrode where they plug in to the circuit board.

This is called "percussive maintenance" and is often quite effective if done with the proper touch.

Some of these units have 2-3 fuses on the circuit board that controls the reversing solenoid. Before you get out a hammer check the fuses.

Just to zero in on the definition of "percussive maintenance", one would use the handle of the hammer, not the end made for hitting nails. It's a finesse sort of thing.

One could also use the handle of a screwdriver for a softer touch.
