Cruisair AC - blower fan reversing - is this normal?

My fan is changing direction when in fan and cool mode. Basically, when the compressor kicks in the fan slows to a stop and begins to spin in a backward motion. The difference in pressure is obviously considerable and assume this is not normal?

Turns out this is a problem, obviously. Fan should not be changing direction and should always blow forward. I can only assume the technician has wired the logic board incorrectly and swapped some connections?

It could be possible problem with capacitor/contoller on the electric motor, if it has one. If the capacitor is either kaput or malfunctioning this could happen, ie reversing AC motor.

Thanks, this did make me check the wiring to the capacitor and it is indeed incorrectly wired. Damn technicians. Did a quick test, as it late here and dark in the locker, and fan spins forward now as expected and manual speed adjustment works. Will check more thoroughly tomorrow and be sure the compressor is kicking in correctly. Hopefully just need to check the wiring diagram and wire as needed.

You've done this sort of stuff before? An undischarged AC capacitor can give you a kick

No, have not. Simply looked at the wiring diagram and can see the lugs were not connected to the correct ends of the capacitor. The common and compressor ends on the lug needed to be swapped. Breaker is off, is this dangerous to change on the capacitor? Is there something else I should do before disconnecting and swapping them?

the easy way is to get some aluminium tin foil and scrunch it up then turn the cap upside down and push the terminals into the foil ,,, easy quick safe
