Cleaning the Head

Is it safe to use something like CLR, which removes calcium, lime and rust? It's the calcium and lime I'm after. Is there something better to use that will dissolve those minerals?

Re: Cleaning the head

If there's buildup in the bowl, there has to be buildup in the hose too.

If you have a serious buildup, muriatic acid (available from any hardware store) will clean it out without harm to any part of the system. Follow ALL use and handling instructions VERY CAREFULLY!

To prevent mineral buildup in the future, a weekly dose of undiluted white vinegar flushed ALL the way through the system. DO not leave it sitting in the bowl....rinse with clean fresh water after an hour.
