Check Valve in Fresh Water System

So the old pump went bad and a service kit did not fix the problem.
Bought new pump and accumulator and while installing I noticed a check valve in the system close to the pump.
The pump installation manual did not mention no Check Valve. (One-Way valve)

The tank is below the pump and the faucets are above the pump.

Do I need a check valve, OR is it built-in in the pump...?

You don't need a check valve.

Yes, it appears it does on the pressure side.
On the suction side water is draining back into the tank after a few minuttes of non-use.
Not a big problem, but I just found out why the previous owner installed a check valve on the suction side....

Re: Check Valve in Fresh Water System

Unless you have a leak, or faulty valves in the pump, a hose full of water connected to the pump at one end and immersed at the other, can not drain back.
Regards,
Richard.
