Re: Cape Horn water maker Installation

Hi Tellie, I get your point, however that's $13,500 Australian dollars, which are currently equivalent to 80 US cents. So that price is equivalent to $US 10,800 which is still very expensive. Yes, you are right. We could make a holiday out of it and have change left over. Take care with Irma!

Re: Cape Horn water maker Installation

Thanks, we're batten down pretty good at the homefront. Helping neighbors and securing boats is the days order but, enough beer is in the spare fridge so we're ready for anything. Living here all my life I've been through a lot of hurricanes before, but this one is extra special. If there is anything I can help you with when it comes to a Spectra, don't hesitate to let me know.

Best Regards

Re: Cape Horn water maker Installation

Hi Gary
Good to hear from you, we were up in Port Douglas on the weekend, first time in nearly 4 years. As to our decision regarding the Cape Horn, we always set out to have 12 vdc system powered by the solar array lithium batteries etc.
So I was after something efficient, and according to most people I know who have them, they are usually happy with the performance. I did pick this one up secondhand, it is 3 years old and I am still installing it, I expect I will have to throw a bunch of money at it to get it working, but I remain optimistic.I am sure I will have some more questions here as I go through the installation stage.

Re: Cape Horn water maker Installation

Dear Tellie.- i´m sorry my system translate directly .-
I will install a Spectra Cape Horn in my Jeanneau 469 in the next few days.
Is it possible to obtain the most advisable layout if the whole boat is available, to establish the best location of the components? Should I direct the query to Jeanneau or Spectra?
Can someone who already installed and is satisfied to operate and control the equipment help?
Greetings from Chile
