I poked around online and found the number written on the rubber, and found some parts available for the defense industry. Sure enough it comes up as a manual pump diaphram kit. It doesn't pump (I'm guessing the seals are blown), so I'd either like to dump it or get a rebuild kit for it. I'm not too happy about the location (right behind the electrical panel).

I had one just like it on my Hans Christian. Actually, I had two. One was for the pumpout of the holding tank and the other was for the emergency manual bilge pump. I rebuilt both while I had the Hans Christian.

I was told that these pumps were built in Taiwan by duplicating big Whales pumps. Sure enough, I was able to get rebuild kits that were nearly identical to the original parts. I took one apart and measured the diaphragm and ordered the kit that had one of the same size. It turned out that the other parts fitted as well.

Caution - We nearly lost our boat when one of the diaphragms split. We were healed over for a long time and the through hull seacock was not closed. Water came in through the pump for a long time before I discovered the problem. After that, I made sure that the seacock was closed. Getting the new diaphragm in the Bahamas was not easy.

These brass pumps will last forever if you can get the parts. On mine, there were no identifying model numbers.

Do you remember where you got your rebuild kits from? I'm thinking of scrapping it and replacing it with a smaller Whale MK5. I've got one for the lavac head, one for the holding tank, and then this would make three for the bilge pump.

I'm planning on having a "mobile" high rate pump on a board with the hoses loose with a cage on one end and a clip of sorts on the other. So the reduced capacity of the MK5 wouldn't be a big deal to me considering how nice it will be to just have one variety of pump parts (and knowledge) onboard.

Also had one just like it on my boat...still have it...should make a nice Hibatchi...damn thing must weigh 10 pounds....

I ended up ordering it from West Marine. It is too good to replace.

The operation is simple and usuall the only thing that can go wrong is the flapper valves get stuck. mine was stuck and i just lifted the intake valve with a screwdriver wiped the surfaces with a rag and it is still working great. they will move alot of water especially when the battery box is flooded and the electric pumps malfunction. I believe it is also required equipment on any boat for the safety inspection.
