Boosting Fridge Insulation

We have the std electric fridge (top loading) on our Bavaria 36. I would like to increase the efficiency by adding additional insulation. I would welcome all advice on method and potential materials (preferably available in Australia).

Lots of options and lots of opinions. One thing to be aware of is that some types of insulation may start out good but absorb moisture unless sealed inside plastic sheet or the like. Once the insulation takes on a lot of moisture it will lose quite a lot of the R value.

If you have a giant budget a sealed vacuum panel has the highest R value for the thinnest section. For most of us Dow blue foam sheets are recommended by many as the best for good R value and low moisture absorbency.
The water is always bluer on the other side of the ocean.

Sometimes it's necessary to state the obvious for the benefit of the oblivious.

John you can get some sheet rubber insulation (armaflex) from Actrol. Comes in differnet thickness I used 25mm inside my fridge top, a sheet of 25mm (1.0m x 1.2m I think size wise) is a round $80 aussie dollars. Just sellect your glue with care as the odour will last for a while.
