Biociding Katadyn Survivor Watermaker

What water do people use to dissolve the biocide/membrane preservative for Katadyn Survivor Watermakers?

I've just commissioned my watermaker (which exceeded my expectations, which were fairly modest). Its now back in storage until next year.

I notice that Katadyn say the while sea water can be used to dissolve to supplied biocide, as soon as possible afterwards unchlorinated fresh water should be used to clean the system.

What do people use? Demineralised water for batteries? The tap water round here is invariably chlorinated, the local bottled drinking water contains 6mg chlorides per liter.

We use water from the watermaker but I can't see a problem with distilled water.

Actually either distilled or product water can be used. The idea is not to introduce any residual chlorine into the membrane. I usually use disstilled water because it's just easier, espcially if waiting for the watermaker of this size to make a gallon or two.
