Best Water Pump?

I have used many different 12 V fresh water pumps and all broke soon. Is there any pump that lasts? Mostly the membrane breaks.
Thanks
Wolfgang

Re: Best Water Pump?

I think you may have another problem. Although I have only owned a boat for a short time, we used the same pumps in our RV. I easily got 7 years or more out of them (1/2 time use). I even ran one dry for a week (yup left it on for a week) and it still worked for years after.

Jabsco Par Max 4 fresh water pump. The first cheap pump cost 125 euros only lasted two seasons (one year of service). Hopefully, the Jabsco will last longer at 250 euros.

Re: Best Water Pump?

Our original Par Max 4 (#30620) lasted approx. 8-10 years, somewhere in there. Our replacement Par Max 4 (#31620) is still going strong, knock wood.

The newest model is the Par Max 4 Plus (#82400) and it fits the same mounting footprint as our earlier models.

All are compatible with Jabsco's #30573 accumulator tank.

(Info per Jabso tech.)

Re: Best Water Pump?

I like a diaphragm pump, they are noisy, vibrate and pulsate the water, but seem to be very reliable and easily rebuild-able. Seem to last for years
