Given that any conversion involves some amout of energy loss why would they convert to AC?
Much more efficient motors ( see Nikola tesla )

Re: Beier 12V Compressors

Shangyu Beier Electronic Co., Ltd. - Car fridge & freezer,Solar fridge & freezer (Export)
Ever since Cat Man Do put up the Aust link I've been interested in them and thanks 'belizesailor' for the updates.
I'm guessing it's because 3 phase AC enables softer starts and variable speeds but the experienced refrig. guys would know better than I.
I'm trying to learn more about all refrig. compressor systems [esp. 24V] so thanks to all for the additional comments.
Cheers,
Mac

Your welcome.

The system is not quite as efficient as a similar Danfoss and it runs a bit noisy and rougher, but cools just fine.

The fridge box I bought is not the ideal form factor....tall and skinny...wide and deep is more practical. But it was what was immediately available when the previous fridge was damaged.

belizesailor,
All of my Chinese power tools run just fine, just rougher as you describe, took a bit of getting used too though.
As with 'Cat Man Do' it is the flip top freezer format I was considering which fitted 'our' Catana but when we had to pull out of our cat purchase plan [car accident injuries] that particular format became moot.
When we can proceed, notwithstanding the vessel's setup, we could choose a model from their range dependent upon reliability which is why we appreciate your updates.
The South Pacific is not as demanding as your environment [IMO] so if they work there and in our outback they are a viable option to us.
Thanks again for posting your experience with them.
Cheers,
Mac

Not bad , all the ones I have looked at say

* Temperature Range:

Fridge +5 to Freezing -18C at 30C ambient temperature.

This way you can used it as a fridge, if required or as a freezer just by adjusting the thermostat.
