Actual Spectra Install Dimension

All,

We are looking at various Spectra units and they all say that the units are 12 inches deep. Is this an actual representation of the depth required for installation?

Is there a particular unit that is more suitable than the others for reconfiguration?

You might want to ask Spectra directly

ps: I think you may be right about the 12" max depth.

It depends on what part you are measuring. If you are just measuring the Clark pump/membrane module, they are all 12" deep. The beauty of a Spectra is it's modular ability. If this measurement becomes a problem the pump and membrane can be separated from each other and the parts placed in different locations. Please feel free to post here what you are running up against and I'll help you the best I can or feel free to call me as well. (954) 515-7077.

Yes, they are very modular and each component/component group can be relocated. In my older Catalina 30 install the only 2 components still mounted as original are the Clark pump and membrane vessel (which come mounted in a metal frame together).

Thanks Tellie.

The space we are trying to fit the equipment into is 11" Deep by 16" High by 33" long. It is enclosed on all sides with sliding vented doors on the front.

I'm comparing the Spectra against the new offering from Schenker called the Zen 30 or the Zen 50, which seems to fit that space perfectly.

Re: Actual Spectra Install Dimension

We ended up ordering a Schenker Zen 30 liter.

It happened to perfectly fit the space that we wanted to put it in - it's out of the engine room, hidden from view, and only 5 feet from our circuit panel. I wanted to make a spectra work but it required too much modularization to get it to fit vs. just installing this one. Also, Schenker was running a really good boat show discount. I got the automatic unit for ~ $4500 [$4950 including shipping and tax in Florida].
