Re: 423 clogged heads

That system is essentially a VacuFlush on steroids, with the same issues all V/Flush toilets will have if something goes down that shouldn't. Apparently it's never occurred to the Navy that ship's crews aren't SAILORS, they're landlubbers who need the same "marine toilets 101" potty training that all new recreational boat owners do.

Anybody know where I need to submit the application for a contract to do that???

Re: 423 Clogged Heads

WOW... Thats going to be a problem. The admittance valves used on the big industrial vacuum systems really don't like trash down the drain. Plus if (well really when) the Big centrifugal vacuum blower at the holding tank fails life gets interesting.

When I was doing some of the big casinos on the strip in vegas. I would sometimes put a big grinder called a muffin monster on the main sewer line. That thing would grind bricks or anything else going down the tubes. Sounds like the Navy could use a few of those now and then.

When asked what the cause of the failures was, a spokesperson said "we have nothing to go on right now"
