12vdc Watermaker with Manual Option

Katadyn seems to fit the bill but before I buy I would like to hear from those who are currently using their choice as to what it is, how easy was it to install, and how much did it cost. Maintenance requirements on every one of these seems to be pretty much the same all around. If that's not true, let me know. Thanks !

If you are interested in the Katadyne I have a PUR 40 E, with installation and maintenance kit new in a box. Made a mistake! I want a much larger capacity and fully automated. I owned this model before, and worked flawleslly. Let me know if your interested, although it is down in Mexico with me now.

Hi Clifford, We are about to install a Powersurvivor 40. We bought it knowing that the manual option is a major pain to configure (not a "for fun maneuver") but that it could be used that way if we lost electricity. As far as I know there are no other watermakers with a manual option (?). We have not installed or used it so I have no info there. Livia
