Re: 12 volt water maker suggestions

I just looked up that site and wondering if I read the brochure right. Pretty sure it says 16 amps at 12 v for 30 l/hr and 32 amps for 60 l/hr. Isn't that around 2 amps per gallon? Doesn't sound that efficient to me compared to some of the others. Also seem to be pretty pricey.

Did I mis-read the brochure (not in English).

With battery voltage <13.8V and voltage drop in the undersize wiring (are you really going to wire it with 1/0 AWG?), I suspect this unit will draw 80A in practice.

Hey Mark,

I have a privilege and the entire boat is wired 1/0 AWG from front to back factory All Batteries connected 1/0 even my windlass bank is wired in that gauge.

I need 70 gal a day for my guests and my bank can handle the load

but look forward to seeing what others have experianced

and thanks for heads up on them changing their specs...I'll dig into that

Cheers everyone
