YANMAR KANZAKI TRANSMISSION

1.Can anyone please give me the name of a respectable parts supplier for a KANZAKI KM2 transmission.
If you replace the drive cone ,...should you also replace the "large gear" that the cone contacts?
Any guidance here would really be apprecaited.
2. Does anyone sell the entire transmission?

Thanks
Bernard

all of the above questions can be answered by your local Yanmar dealer.
Go to Yanmar Marine to find a local dealer

Unhappy YANMAR TRANSMISSION

Hi there "never monday",.........I would have to unfortunately disagree with your reply. I called 3 Yanmar dealers today (on your advice) and still have no answers at all!
One guy had never even heard of a Kanzaki transmission! When I tried repeatedly to explain a cone clutch, I was greeted with silence. Not even the thought to perhaps refer to a manual??
So,...I am still out there, waiting for any signs of wisdom to come my way.

I do need some guidance here.

Thanks,
Bernard

Thanks

Mack Boring has rebuilt a couple for me. After some people put ATF in them and "kilt'em".

Pat,
I tried taking the rpm upto 2000 - 3000 and the vibration dissappeared on 3 out of 4 tries. Instead of actually moving the gear selector on the trans mission, I engaged the forward gear very fast and it seemed to lock in every time. When done slowly the engine would vibrate. Is it the cone AND perhaps a part that engages the cone?

Good afternoon,
I have a quick question.. Are you familiar with Drivesaver couplings? Any info would be great. If so do you know what size for a kanzaki KM35P on my Yanmar 3JH5E motor. Thanks in advance. Jim

Well now you are assuming the dipstick is original... hmmm.
What does the serial number plate say?

FYI - Chief Engineer won't be able to help you out. The 'Chief' made the post in 2008 and has since passed. If you look just under his username, you will note he is described as an "Eternal Member" which indicates he has died.

Hopefully others will be able to provide an answer or better still, you could start a new thread for your question.

Cruiser's Forum. Because there are lots of places on the Internet where you can argue about what kind of oil to use, but only one where you can do it with the deceased.

Re: YANMAR KANZAKI TRANSMISSION

if it's a KM2P, it's SAE30 oil, or the same oil as the engine (10W40)
