What Key Stock Material at SS Prop ?

Hi Everyone
I was looking at my prop this weekend and noticed a slight play between prop and shaft from forward to reverse. I removed the prop to inspect and found that it needs a stepped key but it had a standard key so there was about 1/64 play between the shaft grove and key . No problem I will have another machined. My question is the key is not steel or stainless, but I assume it is made of brass although the colour looks more like copper? Could anyone advise which material one should use for key between Brass propeller and stainless tapered shaft? Thanks

Sergy, You don't want to use brass, these are generally either stainless or bronze, mostly bronze. Your prop is also bronze. WG
