What is this transmission??

Hi,

I just got the engine and transmission out of my 73 Morgan O/I.
Attached is an image of the tranny.
Does anyone here actually know the make and model?

Sorry about that....perhaps I've got it now. I have several pics so if there is a view that you need, ask. Thanks in advance. E

Re: What is this transmission??

I sailed a Morgen - Heritage One-Ton about that vintage. Could be Penta. Do you have a wizened old marine repair guy you can ask?

Perhaps this engine end of the transmission will help.

My OI 33 48 is connected to a velvet drive. If it is stock then that's what it is. Bob

It looks like it could be a Paragon Transmission.

Re: What is this transmission??

It does look a lot like a BW Velvet Drive. A bit different from mine but there are a few different versions.

Maybe look here to compare the photos.

Re: What is this transmission??

Looks like a Paragon 200 series to me. Do you have a shot of the shifter? The Paragon is similar to the Borg-Warner Velvet Drives but the shifters are in different spots, Velvet drives, the shift is always on the Port side of the transmission case, the Paragon is on top of the case, just in front of that rear section, which is the reduction gearing.

Re: What is this transmission??

This photo might help. Lots of ideas. The morgan was the largest run production series? I though this would not be so hard.

Hummm, it looks like the shifter is on the top. This increases the likelihood of this being the Paragon, correct? And if so, the 200 series? I will try to match some photos if I can find them. If you know of any sources or have experiences please recommend. Thank you.
