Transmission Overtemp Warning Cat 3512B Hurth

A friend has been having a problem with an overheat warning on a hurth trans coupled to the cat 3512b engine. We took the trans heat exchanger out and rodded it out to shiny. I went down underway when the overheat warning was active and could place my hand on the trans and it didnt feel overheat hot. Thinking temp sensor? or ???? The 1500 hp turbo V12 is a thing to behold

Re: Transmission Overtemp Warning Cat 3512B Hurth

I lost a Hurth 360a from overheating, had a pin hole leak in the Transmission Heat exchanger , letting in a small amount of sea water- ruined my day- Good Luck, seems like its just a sensor , but id check the fluid to make sure no water is mixing in~
